The ex-wife of Michael Douglas, Diandra Douglas, said the site "TMZ", which does not have HPV. The statement comes after the actor said in an interview with British newspaper "The Guardian" that his throat cancer was caused because of a sexually transmitted disease.
"Without being too specific, this type of cancer is caused by HPV (human papilloma virus), which actually comes from oral sex," said the actor. He further stated that it was concerned about the possible causes of her cancer: "I worried if the arrest of my son was not a cause, but it was actually a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer."
Michael was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 when he discovered a tumor on her tongue. The actor's cancer was classified as level four and he went through intense sessions of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Michael is married to actress Catherine Zeta Jones since 2000.
